{"id":977,"date":"2005-06-06T00:36:31","date_gmt":"2005-06-05T22:36:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/unknowngenius.com\/blog\/?p=977"},"modified":"2005-06-07T11:16:50","modified_gmt":"2005-06-07T09:16:50","slug":"scars","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/unknowngenius.com\/blog\/archives\/2005\/06\/06\/scars\/","title":{"rendered":"Scars"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>5 Scars, off the top of my head:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><i>age \u2013 body part \u2013 shape \u2013 tool used \u2013 location: comment<\/i><\/li>\n<li><b>Before 1 \u2013 upper-lip \u2013 all over \u2013 scalpel \u2013 some hospital<\/b>: Don&#8217;t remember much of that one.<\/li>\n<li><b>8 \u2013 lower belly \u2013 straight line, a good two inches long \u2013 scalpel \u2013 some other hospital<\/b>: Dangerously closer to <s>vital<\/s> reproductive organs.<\/li>\n<li><b>12 \u2013 left shoulder \u2013 kinda star-shaped, rather tiny \u2013 surfboard+wave+basaltic ocean ground \u2013 bottom of the Indian ocean<\/b>: The wave didn&#8217;t look <em>that<\/em> big at the time. Volcanic stone will really rip your skin apart.<\/li>\n<li><b>17 \u2013 left shoulder \u2013 neat incision, half-an-inch \u2013 girlfriend with a knife \u2013 Paris<\/b>: Not nearly as bad as it sounds.<\/li>\n<li><b>22 \u2013 knuckle on medium finger of right hand \u2013 crescent-shaped \u2013 blunt object held by Bad Guy \u2013 Tokyo<\/b>: more blood than damage. Didn&#8217;t end up all that well for Bad Guy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><!--private--><!--no-keitai-log--><br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\nOf course, the list above now needs updating.<\/p>\n<p>At the moment, bits of threads are starting to peel off my body in the most disturbing, yet ostensibly expected, way. <\/p>\n<p>Crazy thing is the speed at which the skin seems to cicatrise under it: I can already tell my bikini line will be perfectly unscathed long before the end of the Summer. <\/p>\n<p>Which brings the obvious question: how comes they don&#8217;t use the same superior stealth stitching technology when doing, ya know, <i>pneumatic reinforcement<\/i> surgeries. Quite obviously, nobody wanna have large scars lingering all over their body. Unless these can be satisfyingly backed up with a story involving vicious enemy fire, deadly bulls, or the use of 17th century katanas to preserve one&#8217;s family honour. <\/p>\n<p>Very few California teenage girls have plausible tales of accomplishment in the Vietnam war or semi-successful Spanish bullfighting experience. Indeed, in their case, hiding such marks of clinical enhancements would seem the preferred way.<\/p>\n<p>Yet, personal, erm, <em>scientific<\/em> research in this domain, has demonstrated that scars nearby the operated area are more than common.
