{"id":925,"date":"2005-05-14T19:48:13","date_gmt":"2005-05-14T10:48:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/unknowngenius.com\/blog\/archives\/2005\/05\/14\/frenchman-streaks-through-the-senate\/"},"modified":"2005-07-12T20:06:27","modified_gmt":"2005-07-12T11:06:27","slug":"streaking-at-the-french-senate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/unknowngenius.com\/blog\/archives\/2005\/05\/14\/streaking-at-the-french-senate\/","title":{"rendered":"Streaking at the French Senate"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Yesterday, a session of the French senate was <a href=\"http:\/\/www.reuters.fr\/locales\/c_newsArticle.jsp?type=oddNews&#038;localeKey=fr_FR&#038;storyID=8473645\">interrupted<\/a> when a young man suddenly jumped from the public balconies, onto the actual senate floor, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.reuters.fr\/locales\/c_newsArticle.jsp?type=oddNews&#038;localeKey=fr_FR&#038;storyID=8488825\">wearing but a thong, adorned with the colors of the French flag<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This [somewhat prudish] <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Streaking\">streaker<\/a> managed to briefly voice his position on an upcoming national referendum, before being manhandled to the door.  For added visibility, said position (a very unequivocal &#8220;NON&#8221; to the adoption of a European-wide constitution) was written all over his body, including his bare buttocks.<\/p>\n<p>The man got out with only a few bruises (it&#8217;s a good 10 feet drop), a stern warning from the authorities and a newfound popularity on the evening-show circuit.
