\nA few years ago, I briefly worked as an assistant photographer in California. So I can say I have been literally paid to know that taking postcard-style pictures requires a heavy investment both in time and equipment. I am usually content taking a few live portraits, the odd detail here and there and all kind of stuff that doesn’t require getting up before the sun does and waiting in the freezing pre-dawn morning while making twenty thousand light measurements and setting up thousands bucks worth of lenses and filters. I leave this to paid professionals and stay in my cozy bed instead.<\/p>\n

But, just before leaving, I got a brand new toy<\/a> (the previous one, however compact and shriekingly kawaii sucked really too much, even for casual use) and was eager to give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised, both by its easy controls and the resulting quality…<\/p>\n

It doesn’t hurt either that Marseille, the Mediterranean coast in general, have one of the most photogenic lighting.
