Eat. Non-stop.<br \/>\nSomehow all my San Francisco friends now work with, around or in restaurants (and those that don&#8217;t, have a home kitchen to ridicule most professional restaurants). Two weeks of uninterrupted <a href=\"http:\/\/www.frenchylefreak.com\/\">home-cuisine<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fleurdelyssf.com\/\">haute-cuisine<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nbcbayarea.com\/around-town\/events\/New-Cafe-Opens-with-VC-Hook-Up-104074479.html\">haute-concept<\/a>, cheap Indian, puntastic <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thepphanom.com\/\">Thai<\/a> (seriously: &#8220;Thai-tanic salad&#8221;? really?), <a href=\"http:\/\/www.yosemitepark.com\/dining_ahwahneediningroom.aspx\">Kubrickian American<\/a> (way up there in the mountains) and near-daily morning brunches featuring lovely crispy bacon and heaps of Californian cheese.<\/p>\n<p>Guess who was overcome with joy at the thought of a simple, light, miso soup upon getting back home&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;text-indent:0;\">*<br \/>* *<\/p>\n<p>There were many positively awesome things about Scott &#038; Cassie&#8217;s wedding ceremony, but their <a href=\"http:\/\/www.freedomtomarry.org\/page\/-\/files\/pdfs\/mildred_loving-statement.pdf\">choice of reading<\/a>, as powerful yet appropriate reminder of the state of <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/California_Proposition_8_(2008)\">marriage law<\/a> these days, was a particularly cool one.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;text-indent:0;\">*<br \/>* *<\/p>\n<p>Heard at the <em>Japanese<\/em> souvenir shop of the <em>Japanese<\/em> Tea Garden:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\n<strong>Very Large White Woman:<\/strong> I am looking for these Japanese dolls&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Japanese shop employee:<\/strong> ah&#8230; <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Kokeshi\">Kokeshi<\/a>, yes, we have them here.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Very Large White Woman:<\/strong> No, no&#8230; Not this kind. The ones that fit inside one another.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Japanese shop employee:<\/strong> You mean&#8230; <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Matryoshka_doll\">Russian nesting dolls<\/a>?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Very Large White Woman:<\/strong> Yes!
