I bought my first ever electric drill yesterday.
Half-expected balloons to drop from the ceiling and the store manager to come over to personally congratulate me on finally entering mature adulthood.

We have always wanted a drill but have not yet made the plunge.
@KeitaiGoddess: now you can borrow mine (Mature Adulthood flag #2: loan powertools to other mature adults – check!).
It is a very crappy/cheap one though.
But aren’t you renting your own place? What use could a lease-abiding Japanese tenant ever have for a drill?
