There are also a few shops "Rue de Joinville". It's not too far from Goa, and they even have a specialised shop on chinese medicine and tea.
Metro Crimée probably, it's a perpendicular street between the Avenue de Flandre and the Canal de l'Ourq, near from the Place de Bitche where there is a big "Marché" not too expensive every sunday morning ( but you should go there with some friends because it's very easy to by veggies and fruit in large quantities).

I do confirm what flukux was saying about the shops around metro La Chapelle, but you might want to know what you want because they are not always very helpful.

You'll find some shops around Belleville too, btw.

hi!
I live in paris, after having lived 7 years in s.e.asia, and i have come to the same quest...
-> Goa : a great shop to get all asian ingredients : Metro Stalingrad .. right there on the boulevard .. you can find all you need to make a thai curry
-> Indian shops : very close to goa : in the little streets behind Metro La Chapelle, all the specific spices...

I live in this area, and could show u around .. we might exchange some receipes ;)

ciao !
